The trick is to know as much about how to play the various decks in the meta as possible so that you can find cards that hit their weak points. Crow, Ghost Ogre, and the Ash Blossom reprint are pretty cheap and effective handtraps against many match ups. Cards like the Kaijus, Twin Twisters, and Pankratops are great generic removal, and Effect Veiler, D.D. Focus on relatively cheap, generic removal and hand traps. That being said, you can definitely beat these decks without Phantazmay. Phantazmay gives you a way to deal with many of the more difficult aspects of playing against these decks. Also Link spamming combo decks are seeing a fair bit of play too, like Orcust. These are popular decks that Link Summon almost every turn, are good at out-resourcing you, and bolster a fair few card effects that target your cards. While it can be effective against a lot of decks, IMO Phantazmay is especially popular right now because of the presence of Sky Striker and Salamangreat in the metagame.
